Assisi is an extraordinary city with its vocation to the promotion of peace and respect and it continues promoting a culture based on the dialogue where nobody is excluded, that proposes well common values, following Saint Francis and Saint Claire example. Assisi Pax Mundi festival is organized by Assisi’s Franciscan families with the cooperation of the Saint Francis Papal Basilica Chapel Choir with the object to give the possibility to dialogue for the peace and for the Communion. Participating groups, in fact, have to present their repertoire and to meet each other to share their experiences and feelings in order to enrich themselves.
Father Giuseppe Magrino talks about the no-competitive aspect of Assisi Pax Mundi that is intended to offer an occasion of dialogue and meeting. He underlines the importance of the theme of the festival as well: “Eucharist is the source and the top moment of Christian life and it’s the heart of the Franciscan Spirituality”
“Lumen Gentium” Constitution, talking about the common ministry of everybody is devoted to the Lord, writes: “all devoted take part to the oblation of the Eucharist by the virtue of their ministry […] Participating at this they offer themselves to the Lord, that is the aim and the source of all their Christian life. According to this, they play a role in the liturgical action thanks to the oblation and receiving the Holy Communion” (Lumen gentium 2, 10-11). The Eucharist is the act of all God’s people that isn’t only a passive action but active as well because it is accomplished by the participation of all them. Nobody is simply a spectator. Everybody is an actor with different roles. The Eucharist is the source and the aim of the entire human life. For this reason all us, as Franciscans, according to God’s project and the Church teaching, we have chosen the “Eucharist, source of life” as theme for this fifth edition of Assisi Pax Mundi.
